Re: Formation of a 2 node serviceguard cluster.

Formation of a 2 node serviceguard cluster.

Hi,
I'm new to the world of serviceguard cluster . basically , i need to form 2 node serviceguard cluster, along with a quorum server . Can somebody give me the clean steps of the clusetr formation ?
Following is my setup details :
-------------------------------
1: 2 HP-UX ( ia-64 ) servers -11.23
2: Both the nodes are installed with serviceguard 11.18
3: All Private and public LAN is configured for both the nodes.
4: There is a quorum server , which is also in network .
-------------------------------

My requirement is to form a cluster for Metrocluster failover across two datacenter.

NOTE : I already have a setup in which there are 1 EVA array in each dataCenter ,and the zoning is already made with 1 node , 1 EVA , 1 WMS for each datacenter .

I would really appreciate , if i get all the steps , briefly explained.

Re: Formation of a 2 node serviceguard cluster.

Hi,

2 Nodes SG cluster formation steps are already given but if you are going for a disaster tolrence solution using metro cluster then few more things need to be done here.

Refer to following step by step guide for a complete information.

http://docs.hp.com/en/B7660-90019/ch04.html

Also You should have MetroCluster with Continuous Access XP Toolkit installed on all nodes in cluster at both ends.

At EVA side, Storage cell and DR groups should be configured along with Zoning for both nodes at each side.

Quorum server configuration:

1) Update /etc/cmcluster/qs_authfile with all new hostnames of each new cluster

2) Re-read the authentication file using:
# /usr/lbin/qs -update

3) Verify if port 1238 is open for all new configured cluster/nodes.

Regds,
Deepak

Re: Formation of a 2 node serviceguard cluster.

I suggest you read the following:
http://docs.hp.com/en/B7660-90023/B7660-90023.pdf
and
http://docs.hp.com/en/T1906-90022/T1906-90022.pdf

Also, Deepak is incorrect, you need the Metrocluster CA/EVA Toolkit, NOT the CA/XP Toolkit.
