Re: HP service Guard Manager problem
Check dmesg and /var/log/messages for more specific output.
root is all powerful and should be able to do this.

Re: HP service Guard Manager problem
The 2 suggested paths you mentioned are not present.
/var/log/messages file is present
What should we be looking for

Re: HP service Guard Manager problem
if you are using service guard 11.16 or later you should configure cmclnodelist carefully. it should contains all the configured physical interface names like hb and cache fusion addresses.

Re: HP service Guard Manager problem
A lot more info would be helpful. Since you mention SUSE this is obviously Linux.
SGLX version?
Can you ping all nodes from each other?
If this is SGLX did you use the installation scripts.
All that said, a quick thing to try - set "+ +" (without the quotes) in cmnodelist. Check the info on cmnodelist in the manual.
You also need to check that firewalls are set appropriately or are turned off.

Re: HP service Guard Manager problem
The discussion ends on page 149.
Adhering to the configuration recommendations has corrected many a problem with accessing Serviceguard commands.
