There is a lot of missing information:

You are replacing two rx2800-i4 servers with two identical rx2800-i4 servers?
What is the reason for the replacements?
Do the new servers have different fibre cards.
Will the fibre switch also be replaced?
Is there a tape drive available to take an Ignite backup and restore for the internal disks?
Or do you have a separate Ignite server to backup and restore over the network?
Do you have any software running that is licensed to the serial or ID number for the old systems?

You are replacing two rx2800-i4 servers with two identical rx2800-i4 servers? --> YES.
What is the reason for the replacements? --> Hardware replacement ageing more than 5 yrs.
Do the new servers have different fibre cards. --> No; FC Model - HP AH401A
Will the fibre switch also be replaced? No, But port will be different in same SAN switch. FC zonning part would be taken care by SAN team.
Is there a tape drive available to take an Ignite backup and restore for the internal disks? -- > NO
Or do you have a separate Ignite server to backup and restore over the network? --> Separate Ignite server in same network.
Do you have any software running that is licensed to the serial or ID number for the old systems? No

IMHO you have 2 options.

Option1:

Ignite (this is a must have for your servers)

Option2:

DRD (clone) the existing system to the new hardware.

Hope this helps!

I have built both the new servers from Ignite of old servers.
Now my query : As per configuration I stated earlier -
1. How to sync root vg data on outage ?
2. How to migrate cluster VG to new hosts ?

I'd:

  1. recover from ignite old_rx28 --> new_rx28 (with changed hostname & IPs)
  2. reconfigure SAN to "show" cluster disks to new_rx28 (new WWNs)
  3. add new_rx28 to existing cluster
  4. remove old_rx28 from the cluster.

A.

Re: How to Migrate all Filesystems with data to new hardware server in service guard in hpux11.31

1. Servers built from latest Ignite image.

2. SAN volume cloned & mapped.

3. SG re-configured
