Re: Service guard packaga

Got some more info..

Using HP Serviceguard to manage HP
Integrity Virtual Machines:

http://docs.hp.com/en/T2767-90042/serviceguard_wp.pdf

If you intend to use HP Integrity Virtual Machines (HPVM) with Serviceguard A.11.19, you must install or upgrade to HPVM 3.5, 4.0, or 4.1; these are the only versions currently supported with Serviceguard A.11.19.

Now what I do not understand in the document is the belwo line:

>>>>Unzip or untar the toolkit file into the /var/opt/hpvm/cluster directory.
>>>3. Create a Serviceguard package by running the following script for each virtual machine:

which tar file is he reffering to .... and where can I get this tar file.

>>untar the toolkit file ----> which one where do I get this

Re: Service guard packaga

I feel for you David, it's a little difficult to find what you need.

I installed HPVM filesets and here is the swlist of them:

# swlist | grep grity
T2767CC B.04.10 Integrity VM (must be purchased, also contains SG VM toolkit)
VMGuestLib B.04.10 Integrity VM Guest Support Libraries
VMGuestSW B.04.10 Integrity VM Guest Support Software
VMKernelSW B.04.10 Integrity VM Kernel Software

Go to this website:
www.software.hp.com

In the Search box, enter: 'virtual machines' and search.

The resulting window will list every Integrity VM item you might need.

Integrity Virtual Machines (HP-UX 11i v2 VM Host)
Integrity Virtual Machines (HP-UX 11i v3 VM Host)
Integrity Virtual Machines Manager
Integrity Virtual Machines V4.1 (HP-UX 11i v3 VM Host)
Integrity VM AVIO Software
Integrity VM Guest AVIO LAN Software
Integrity VM Guest AVIO Storage Software
Integrity VM Host AVIO LAN Software
Integrity VM Host AVIO Storage Software

Each package supplies information that helps fill out the picture.

You will need a VM Host package - it is the core product and also contains the SG VM toolkit.

If you installed the VM host software, look for /opt/cmcluster/toolkit/hpvm/hpvmsg_package. If it is installed, you have the VM SG toolkit.
