ServiceGuard and EVA Continuous Access

Hi all,

We have a primary site with 2 rx6600 nodes cluster running HPUX v3 and serviceguard, EVA 4400, and running Oracle DB and Oracle App servers.
Now at an alternate site we installed EVA 4400, 2 new rx servers, and continuous access, the connection between two sites is 2Gb fiber.
My question is how can we use these components to build none automatic DR solution without using the continental cluster???
Any help will be appreciated

Oracle has a product called dataguard. With a line that fast between the two clusters, dataguard can replicate the data between the two systems without using continental cluster.

I'm not aware of the license cost for either product, you will have to decide if this approach makes economic sense by asking for quotes. Oracle licensing can be very pricey.

you can build an extended distance cluster with data mirroring using LVM instead of Continuous Access. Check out the following document:

Also make sure that you follow all the guidelines for designing HA solutions, as described in the guide.

Sorry for this late, I solved this problem by making the DR group read only for the remote servers, and using vgchange -c y command at the remote site after failover occurred.
