TFTP dubs.

Hello, dear forum friends.
It is necesary to create the file first on tftp server to putting on it ?

Thanks in advance.

More info about it:

putting /tmp/occupancy_TSM to 10.115.15.80:/home/tftpdir/occupancy_TSM [octet]
sent WRQ
received ERROR

tftp> quit

Re: TFTP dubs.

Yes, for put the file must exist. In your case verify these.
1- File exist on tftp's home dir
2- If file exist it must have the right ownership (tftp:users).
3- If file exist "tftp" must be able to read and write to it.

Re: TFTP dubs.

Thanks for your opinion, S.K. CHAN.
I have been trying to put the file without create it first and fail. So when I make a touch of the file to create an empty file, the tftp put works fine.
So the cuestion it was: Can I configure the tftp to put create the file on tftp server or the only way is to create with a touch first ?

Thanks.

Juanma.

Re: TFTP dubs.

The only way is to touch an empty file first because for tftp "put" you can only write to a file if it already exists in the tftp server.
I found a doc that further illustrate my point.

Look at "Troubleshooting TFTP" section 4 & 5.
