What would it cause when stopping inetd dealing with some MC-ServiceGuard issues ?

Guys,

For my recent post http://community.hpe.com/t5/General/cmviewcl-hangs-after-OS-running-some-time/m-p/6844135, I found a way to deal with that issue.

Executing inetd -k and then restart inetd, in some way, it seemed that the problem was fixed.(At first try, I could not restart ServiceGuard using cmruncl after cmhaltcl, and then I tried it again, it was OK!) This present a way to fix such problems happened in other systems, and here comes other problems:

1, Is where something wrong with inetd? how to analyze it?

2, What is the real function of inetd? If I stop and restart inetd on a running OS, what (harm) would it cause? would it stop database or cluster or appliaction on this OS?

3, what is the connection between inetd and ServiceGuard?

Regards
