cluster configure in RHEL4 & RHEL5

Hi All,

I have two DL380 G4 servers, where one server has the OS RHEL-4 & another has RHEL-5. RHEL-4 installed server is currently in production environment. I like to create a cluster environment with these 2 servers. Is it possible to do so, where there will be no impact in RHEL-4 server? If yes, please provide me the step-by-step procedure to do so.

Re: cluster configure in RHEL4 & RHEL5

Hi Mahmud,

First, I hope you posted this question under HPUX serviceguard also. :)

Mixing cluster nodes with different OS versions and patch levels are not at all a recommended configuration. You need to to keep OS version/patch level same for the best cluster configuration.

As per my understanding this is an unsupported configuration which you can try at your own risk, I have no hope you can make it robust. Documentations say so....
