how to install the software in cluster

hi,

 

we are following two process, kindly confirm which one is the right procedure

 

procedure -1

 

1.halt the pakage (cmhaltpkg)

2.halt the cluster (cmhaltnode)

3.install the depot file

 

procedure -2

1.cmhaltcl

2.install the deport file

2.cmrunnode

What kind of software are you installing?

 

The method you use depends on whether the software you install will be used by applications that are running in your cluster packages.  You may not need to shutdown the packages or the cluster at all.

That definitely  helps.

 

Here is what I would do:

 

1) Halt the package

2) Restart the package on the other node if you want.

3) Halt the node - cmhaltnode

4) Install the patch

5) Allow the system to reboot as a kernel patch will require a reboot

6) Service Guard shold restart when the system reboots.

7) Move the package from the 2nd node back to the 1st node

Could you please share the cluster configuration file located in which path,because I need to change IP

The IP address used by the packages are located in the /etc/cmcluster/<package_name> directory in the <package_name>.sh script.
