Accenture Combines Public Cloud’s Pay-As-You-Go with Private Cloud’s Control

One of the largest consulting companies in the world, Accenture is making strides toward a new cloud solution model better enabling its customers to focus on their own clients and new opportunities by moving business at the pace of the market.

The new solution model is based on hybrid cloud, and HPE Helion OpenStack® is at the foundation.

Accenture offers a consumption-based hybrid cloud model providing its customers with more agility in the market, and removing the need to invest large up-front capital on building their own cloud infrastructures. And providing its solutions in a bundled package.

Why Hybrid Cloud

In a word: Efficiency. Offering hybrid cloud-based solutions, Accenture is providing end-to-end solutions and enabling customers to get more out of their own systems and IT.

Accenture has two hybrid-cloud based solutions in place. Its Accenture Cloud Platform is a public cloud–providing service to multiple public clouds including AWS and Microsoft® Azure– compatible with private cloud. And its Accenture Hybrid Cloud, a private cloud with the capability to burst workloads into public cloud.

With the hybrid cloud pay-as-you-go model, customers consume based on their needs, while maintaining control of enterprise and mission critical applications, how applications interact with security policies, and where the data is located. The hybrid cloud-based solutions also help soothe customer’s concerns on data sovereignty, security, and infrastructure control.

The HPE Helion Difference

A longtime partner with Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Accenture’s infrastructure is based on HPE Helion OpenStack serving as the foundation for the company’s private cloud environment.

The key component driving Accenture’s hybrid cloud capabilities is the HPE Flexible Capacity service, which combines the benefits of public cloud’s pay-as-you-go rapid scalability and the control, security, and privacy of having on-premises data centers. Accenture is able to deliver those benefits in a private cloud leveraging the technology and ensuring its customers can adjust to the market quickly without the risk of wasted capital

With this opex model, customers are seeing cost savings in their facilities, capacity planning, time to market, annual downtime, and SLA penalty.

Optimizing Accenture’s hybrid cloud solution model, HPE operations management software–HPE Operations Orchestration–is driving automation across Accenture’s products. HPE hardware provides the backing.

“When you combine the power of Accenture and Hewlett Packard Enterprise it enables us to deliver capabilities to the marketplace–in industries and industry segments–we have not been able to deliver in the past,” Brown said. “We’re now able to deliver end-to-end solutions that extend all the way from the business to the components of the technology stack.”
