An analyst insight to transitioning to a composable infrastructure with HPE Synergy

WhitneyGarcia

The guys from theCUBE talked with HPE’s Paul Miller and Moor Insights & Strategy’s Patrick Moorhead about customer reactions to HPE Synergy, the industry’s need for composability, and where customers are in their journey toward a more efficient datacenter using composable architecture.

Miller begins by explaining that customer feedback to the HPE Synergy announced “has been phenomenal!” Miller explains that customers want to know how they can truly develop at cloud-like speeds, and how they can take their traditional apps, the new cloud apps and their DevOps environment—and marry them together to accelerate simplicity in their business.

“We’ve been working on areas of converged infrastructure and hyper-converged systems, and now we are taking it to the next step, and that’s what HPE Synergy does,” continued Miller. HPE Synergy is the industry’s first infrastructure built from the ground up for composability, consisting of fluid resource pools of compute, storage and flexible fabric—all defined by intelligent software and controlled by a unified API.

When asked for his take on the HPE Synergy news and where HPE stands in terms of competing products and technologies, Moorhead responded, “When I looked at the comprehensiveness—server, storage, networking, DevOps, virtualization and hybrid cloud, at least right now, they [HPE] are the most comprehensive composable solution out there.”

Moorhead summed up his thoughts on how businesses should move to a more efficient, composable datacenter by saying, “My recommendation is to find somebody who supports different operating models—all the way from rack and stack to converged, hyper-converged and ultimately composable.”

Hi David, Currently the USPS has not added HPE Synergy footprint into any of their data centers.
