Announcing support for Microsoft Azure Government
By guest blogger Bageshri Kundu, WW Product Management, HPE Software-defined and Cloud Group
HPE is excited to announce that customers can now connect their HPE ProLiant for Microsoft Azure Stack systems to Microsoft Azure Stack for Azure Government. With this release, government customers can develop and deploy applications in Azure Government and then deploy on-premises using HPE ProLiant for Microsoft Azure Stack to meet data compliance, regulatory, or policy requirements.
Azure Stack for Azure Government directly addresses many other significant challenges top federal government customers face, including tough connectivity and latency requirements. Some of the use cases include edge/disconnected scenarios and building and running your cloud Apps on Azure Stack.
Key considerations for support include the following:
- All Azure Stack platforms from HPE can integrate with the Azure Government Cloud.
- The minimum version of Azure Stack software required to be deployed against Azure Government Cloud is 1807.
- Customers will need a valid Azure US Government subscription and affiliated user identities for use during the deployment and registration process.
- No special or additional licensing is needed.
The HPE difference
HPE provides the most configurable and secure Azure Stack solution available on the market today. Five main areas set the solution apart:
- Superior flexibility โ only HPE enables customers to configure a solution that best fits their specific needs. No t-shirt sizes with HPE; pick the exact number of nodes, types of processors, and memory options that you require to avoid over-provisioning.
- Industry leading security โ only the HPE ProLiant for Microsoft for Azure Stack solution is built on HPE Silicon Root of Trust that monitors the integrity of the system from the day itโs manufactured until it reaches end of life.
- Cloud economics โ take advantage of HPE GreenLake Flex Capacity for a pay-as-you-consume operating model, inclusive of hardware!
- High availability โ HPE OneView Remote Support can detect problems before they occur, increasing your system availability.
- Joint HPE-Microsoft Innovation Centers โ unique to HPE, the Innovation Centers, built in collaboration with Microsoft, provide customers with the ability to plan, build, and test their Azure Stack solutions with HPE and Microsoft experts.
