Announcing the new Hybrid Cloud Security for Dummies Guide, HPE Edition

It shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that security is still one of the top issues that organizations are trying to get their arms around when contemplating the move into a hybrid cloud. We’ve seen research from every analyst firm with an interest in cloud telling us that security, along with regulatory compliance and data sovereignty, is posing the most boardroom concern for organizations transforming to a cloud based operating model, and it’s not surprising when you taking into consideration the average annualized cost of cybercrime - $7.7m in 2015 according to the Ponemon Cost of Cybercrime study.

At HPE we advise our customers on a hybrid cloud security strategy based around 3 security principles, and 6 technology areas, and we’ve blogged about that extensively on this platform, most recently releasing a series of video posts to cover each of the areas in detail. We’re lucky to be able to offer a portfolio of home-grown and partner-led technologies that help strengthen our proposition, but we also understand the importance of advising customers on best practices around hybrid cloud security, regardless of the technology vendor that is chosen to deliver the solution.

That’s why today I’m happy to announce the availability of our new Hybrid Cloud Security for Dummies Guide, HPE Special Edition. It’s available to download as a pdf by filling out the form on our web page, but if you’re planning to attend HPE Discover in London, then please stop by the Hybrid Cloud Security team at booth 401 and pick up a print copy (whilst stock lasts).

The book explores the cloud security threat, principles of a cloud security architecture, and explores some of the cloud-centric security technologies that are vital in helping an organization to strengthen cloud defenses.

The Hybrid Cloud Security for Dummies Guide, HPE Special Edition, will help you to understand:

  • Principles of Hybrid Cloud Security
  • Hardening the cloud environment
  • How to implement application- and data-centric security
  • How to monitor, detect, and respond to cloud security threats
  • How to deal with regulatory compliance issues in the cloud

I’ve written the guide for those people aware of the value of cloud, and interested in understanding and embracing the security challenges that cloud is likely to introduce. Please go ahead and download a copy, and let me know what you think!

If you are going to be attending HPE Discover in London you can find us at the HPE Helion Cloud Security booth (401) , or during our session, “T10887 Top 6 tips and tricks for securing your Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure” on Wednesday November 30th from 4:30pm-5pm
