Digital Disruption is everywhere. Businesses will thrive or fail on their ability to provide new and unique customer experiences, not just as a once-off but on an ongoing basis. You've probably heard HPE talk about the Idea Economy, where the ability to take a business idea and rapidly convert that to an actual revenue generating idea or service is the order of the day. It is developers who make this a reality and bring these business ideas to life.

As organizations strive to drive more efficiency and speed into the delivery of applications, services and solutions, the need for IT infrastructure vendors to make their hardware platforms more open and programmable has never been more important. Customers including developers expect the infrastructure to react in real time to their ever changing needs and requirements -- from basic provisioning to the ability to flex up and down and more. Developers have their own toolsets and IT Operations are leveraging open source orchestration and automation tools more and more. This requires infrastructure to support a myriad of solutions from companies like Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Docker, Saltstack and others. HPE has providebigstock--126237986.jpgd the required integration through a Unified API available in HPE OneView and now comes embedded in the HPE Synergy Composer.

Paddy Power Betfair plc is a perfect example of a company who is leveraging technology to deliver an innovative best in class service to their customers. They operate in a very competitive market where the ability to bring new services and offerings online in seconds is paramount to their success, without sacrificing performance and reliability. Paddy power Betfair plc has built a true devOps and continuous delivery model for developers using OpenStack as the middleware, HPE as the compute, and are utilizing the HPE OneView open API to enhance the orchestration of the provisioning and deployment of their HPE DL360 servers. In the last 18 months, they have successfully and seamlessly deployed over 1,000 HPE DL360 servers, all running HPE OneView V3.0 advanced. They have also migrated 25 percent of production applications onto OpenStack in less than 12 months (over 100 applications in total) and they have grown from 500 deployments a week to over 1,000 deployments a day using the OpenStack APIs to increase their time-to-market.

HPE and Paddy Power Betfair plc continue to collaborate on developing further automation and orchestration implementations in order to further reduce opex costs, while improving predictability of services and time to market for new production applications and deployments. Recognition of this strategy and design continues globally as Paddy Power Betfair plc has just been recognized and awarded the joint Openstack Superuser Award for 2017. Congratulations to Paddy Power Betfair plc and HPE looks forward to working together on the evolution of your platform.
