Customers love hyperconverged and #HPEDare2Compare!

heart eyes emoji.pngLast fall, HPE launched a successful, light-hearted conversation that highlighted some of HPE’s proven hyperconverged performance data. Until HPE started this #HPEDare2Compare campaign, I couldn’t find any data from other vendors to back up some pretty outrageous performance claims they were making. This lack of documented evidence was a big motivator for me to validate our own performance claims and make them public to you.

And it worked! The #HPEDare2Compare conversation encouraged other hyperconverged vendors to finally start to share their data. But more importantly, hyperconverged customers started to get access to performance data that enables them to make more informed decisions on different hyperconverged platforms.

#HPEDare2Compare – Yes…we’re back!

Because #HPEDare2Compare worked so well, I decided to bring it back and give customers even more! Over the next 3 weeks, HPE will start to share more of our most popular tried-and-true hyperconverged performance data, along with some never-before-shared information based on recent announcements and news. You can easily keep up with the campaign by following the hashtag: #HPEDare2Compare. Hopefully, this will encourage other HCI vendors to continue to participate and share their data as well.

Recent #HPEDare2Compare tweets about HPE Hyper Converged OE 2.0

I shared a few new tweets with you in January--tweets that focused on the recently announced HPE Hyper Converged Operating Environment 2.0.  The HPE Hyper Converged 380 powered by Intel® is an all-in-one, software-defined virtualization solution. The updated operating environment brought composable attributes to the HPE Hyper Converged 380, letting IT become a service provider to lines of businesses (LOB’s).

Designed for the way businesses really operate, this new operating environment provides customers with cloud-like efficiency, cloud-like flexibility and cloud-like speed--in their own datacenter. The new HPE Hyper Converged operating environment automates the availability of IT resources to LOBs and developers through multi-tenant workspaces and a self-service portal (the only HCI solution that does!) These features let developers create new applications faster while IT operators are free to focus on other tasks.

Upcoming #HPEDare2Compare tweets about future HPE SimpliVity hyperconverged offerings

As you probably heard, HPE’s acquisition of hyperconverged solution provider, SimpliVity, became final on February 17. This move wowed the press and analyst community, causing quite a stir in the industry. By bringing together HPE’s best-in-class infrastructure, automation and cloud management software with SimpliVity’s industry-leading software-defined data management platform, HPE has promised to deliver the best and most comprehensive hyperconverged solutions available.

According to Ric Lewis, HPE Senior VP and GM of Software Defined & Cloud Group, “In the near future, we will bring our technologies together in a powerful way. To start, HPE will offer the SimpliVity OmniStack software qualified for ProLiant DL380 servers. Customers may order this new offering today with a targeted delivery date in May.”

That means customers will get the best of both worlds--enterprise class data services such as compression and deduplication running on the world’s best-selling server. Talk about engineering the perfect hyperconverged offspring!

Stay connected and don’t miss the updates as the #HPEDare2Compare campaign ramps up again with data on our newest solutions.
