Extra, extra! Press and analysts spread the news about the new HPE SimpliVity 380
Recently announced in mid-March, the newest hyperconverged solution from Hewlett Packard Enterprise is the HPE SimpliVity 380. The first solution born from the SimpliVity acquisition, this new hyperconverged platform continues to simplify IT by combining all infrastructure and advanced data services for virtualized workloads onto the HPE ProLiant DL380 (the bestselling server platform on the market). The HPE SimpliVity 380 hyperconverged solution, powered by Intel®, deduplicates, compresses, and optimizes all data globally, improving performance, and guaranteeing 90% capacity savings across storage and backup. It also delivers policy-based, VM-centric management to simplify day-to-day operations and enable data mobility, increasing productivity.
After announcing the new HPE SimpliVity 380 hyperconverged solution at CeBIT in Germany, the press and industry took to their outlets to share the news. Check out what some of the press had to say:
“Two months after acquiring SimpliVity, Hewlett Packard Enterprise is beginning to reshape the company's converged infrastructure offering in its own image…HPE's two hyper-convergence product lines will undergo some convergence of their own, combining the best features of the SimpliVity380 and the Hyper Converged 380 into a new product line.” – Peter Sayer, HPE unveils a new SimpliVity appliance, PC World
“Hewlett Packard Enterprise has followed its recent acquisition of hyper-converged infrastructure technology developer SimpliVity with the unveiling of the first fruits of that acquisition. HPE this week introduced the SimpliVity 380, a hyper-converged infrastructure appliance that combines the company's ProLiant DL380 server with SimpliVity's OmniStack software and proprietary hardware card.” – Joseph Kovar, Simplivity debuts first hyperconverged appliance since HPE acquisition, CRN
“The HPE Simplivity 380 with OmniStack takes the best-selling server platform on the market, the ProLiant DL380, and runs SimpliVity’s OmniStack on it combining hypervisor, compute, storage, storage network switching, backup, replication, cloud gateway, caching, WAN optimization, real-time deduplication, and more.” – Adam Armstrong, HPE Announces SimpliVity 380 WithOmniStack, Storage Review
