HPE announces Project New Hybrid IT Stack: a vision for build anywhere, deploy everywhere simplicity

New stack medium.jpgThis week at Discover 2017 Las Vegas, HPE unveiled the next phase of its composable strategy with a technology preview of Project New Hybrid IT Stack. Designed to simplify hybrid IT management, HPE’s vision is to deliver a comprehensive hybrid IT software platform that allows customers to seamlessly compose, operate, and optimize workloads across on-premises, private, hosted, and public clouds — delivering build anywhere, deploy everywhere simplicity.

Where we are today: management complexity of hybrid IT

Today’s digital-savvy customers want greater digital engagement, which has forced businesses to transform or get left behind. By taking on digital transformation initiatives, organizations can enable a superior customer experience, optimize operations in support of agility and customer value, and deliver new or re-imagined products and services.

To meet the needs and pace of digital transformation, businesses have deployed private clouds and adopted public cloud services—while simultaneously maintaining traditional workloads in the data center and at the edge. Reactive cloud adoption may have created cloud silos and management complexity, resulting in missed deployments due to the constraints of IT governance, cost overruns, and limits to choice and the ability to change.

To succeed, businesses need a new approach—one that builds on existing hybrid IT investments.

Making hybrid IT simple

Business and IT leaders are not looking for another tool to add to a cloud stack. And they certainly don’t want to make investments in people, processes, or technology that don’t add business value. That’s why HPE is extending composability and offering greater flexibility, visibility, and cloud-native application portability across on- and off-premises cloud environments. It’s called Project New Hybrid IT Stack.

Project New Hybrid IT Stack will provide the insight executives want to manage their digital business including consumed services costs, health, performance, and utilization. This approach will also allow businesses to optimize the use of on- and off-premises environments and deploy workloads as needed to align to business and data policies, performance, and economic requirements. This type of architecture will also allow executives to satisfy business priorities, including improving customer experiences.

Project New Hybrid IT Stack = simplicity and flexibility

Project New Hybrid IT Stack will provide the simplicity and flexibility enterprises need to deploy and manage their right mix of services that enable and accelerate digital transformation initiatives.

“Hybrid IT is here to stay, and HPE will help make it simple,” explains Ric Lewis, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Software-Defined and Cloud Group, HPE. “The advancements we’re making today with HPE SimpliVity and HPE Synergy, and in the future with Project New Stack, will take our composable capabilities to the next level so our customers can succeed in their digital transformation initiatives.”

Self-service access … anywhere and everywhere

Project New Hybrid IT Stack will provide self-service access to on-premises infrastructure-as-a-service resources and multi-cloud services from public clouds, as well as access to a marketplace of services from Cloud28+. This access will give IT operations and developers a platform to collaborate and curate the tools developers want with the compliance and governance IT operations seek.

Project New Hybrid IT Stack puts IT execs and operators in control of their hybrid environment with a single platform to set up, manage, and compose their unique right mix of traditional IT, private, hosted, and public clouds, increasing multi-cloud operational efficiency and controlling costs. Using a single pane of glass and built-in analytics and controls, IT operations can simply click, compose and consume resources, as well as increase utilization rates and lower spend across clouds.

Line of Business (LOB) executives want to digitally transform their business to increase revenue and lower costs. Project New Hybrid IT Stack will offer LOB executives a dashboard view of consumption, health, performance, and cost analytics to manage their digital transformation workloads.
