In the spotlight! HPE Synergy Composable Storage close-up

KailahG

In one of my previous posts, the conversation focused on the importance of direct attached storage, and how HPE Synergy provides a flexible, high capacity solution. However, storage is a complex topic, and every data center is unique. Many data centers require different kinds of storage solutions to meet the needs for all workloads and applications. For example, direct attached storage would be suitable for managing storage for email workloads, but wouldn’t be dynamic enough to handle storage for things like VDI or Oracle.

To meet the storage needs for more demanding workloads and applications, HPE Synergy has both software-defined storage in the form of VSAs (virtual storage appliances) and HPE 3PAR StoreServ as options. VSAs allow direct attached storage to be shared across frames of HPE Synergy, which offers greater redundancy. HPE 3PAR is a great option for mission critical workloads, and is fully composable when incorporated into the HPE Synergy platform.

In the video below, Product Manager Mark Nickerson goes into detail on the benefits of each of these options, which will allow you to meet all of your storage needs within a single infrastructure.

If you want to learn more about HPE Synergy, check out the HPE Synergy homepage at hpe.com/info/synergy or download your free copy of HPE Synergy For Dummies. Don’t forget to check out the rest of the In the spotlight! series, featuring storage, compute, management, and even the infrastructure itself. Stay tuned for more!
