Just announced! HPE delivers hybrid cloud as a Service to VMware customers
At VMworld 2019 this week, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and VMware announced that HPE will offer VMware Cloud Foundation as a Service through HPE GreenLake on an HPE Synergy platform. With the addition of HPE GreenLake, the new solution is a fully managed hybrid cloud environment where customers only pay for what they consume.
HPE GreenLake with VCF and HPE Synergy
VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) is an enterprise-grade hybrid cloud platform that helps customers transition from legacy IT delivery models to modern cloud operating models. VMware’s integrated software-defined stack extends across private and public cloud environments and offers a single user experience for both. VCF takes all of the self-service capabilities and automated provisioning features typically associated with off-premises infrastructure and makes them available on-premises, allowing users to easily migrate VMs across those environments.
The integration of HPE GreenLake and HPE Synergy with VCF enables companies to accelerate time to value. HPE Synergy allows customers to compose and recompose resources to dynamically configure them to meet the needs of VCF workloads and scale when needed – enabling IT and developers to spin up new resources for faster app provisioning.
The new integration with HPE GreenLake delivers a single, consistent hybrid cloud experience based on VCF. HPE GreenLake supplies the pay-as-you-go element, delivering true on-premises, as-a-Service IT. With HPE GreenLake metering and capacity management, the resources required for each workload are ready to deploy in minutes, not months, shortening time to deploy global IT projects by as much as 65%.
Other news
HPE and VMware have also collaborated on a workload mobility solution with HPE Synergy, VMware Cloud Foundation, and Microsoft Azure. This solution allows customers to dynamically configure, provision, and migrate workloads using a cloud operating model, regardless of the application or location.
