Ormuco launches hybrid cloud-as-a-service with HPE Helion OpenStack® at its core

Since founding his first technology startup when he was 11 years old, Orlando Bayter has been a keen observer of technology trends. Some 20 years after that first foray into entrepreneurship, Bayter is CEO of a company that empowers enterprises to leverage one of the most significant trends shaping technology today.

Ormuco, the Montreal-based company Bayter started in 2008, has partnered with HPE Helion to provide a hybrid cloud solution based on OpenStack® for enterprise customers. “There is a vital need for a hybrid cloud solution,” Bayter said. “HPE Helion OpenStack and Ormuco’s data centers enable us to create environments that focus on service delivery regardless of the underlying infrastructure.”

 Cloud-as-a-Service

Ormuco’s HPE Helion OpenStack-powered solution provides enterprises the ability to easily move workloads between public and private clouds. That critical workload portability comes with equally critical security and compliance management.

With on-demand, pay-as-you-go scalability via a single platform, customers can deliver applications to the marketplace in days instead of weeks and months. The hassle of migrating environments and apps between public and private clouds is gone.

With some of the biggest gaming companies in the world among its customers, Ormuco has experience in delivering solutions that help IT pros manage complex development and deployment needs. Ormuco’s new ‘Connected Cloud’ offers developers, ISVs and resellers true workload portability in an open, vendor-neutral hybrid cloud environment.

HPE Helion OpenStack at the heart

“OpenStack’s value lies in its capacity for facilitating seamless private-to-public scalability and extensive workload portability, while removing the need to layout capital to acquire and maintain depreciating commodity hardware,” Bayter said.

HPE was the natural partner, Bayter commented.

“HPE is doing great things with OpenStack,” Bayter said. “They are the leader in the community and committed to open standardized cloud architecture.”

“Additionally, Ormuco is a charter member of the HPE Helion Network, which means Ormuco’s customers will have access to hybrid cloud solutions from a global, open ecosystem of providers.”

Watch a recent video of Bayter speaking about the value of the Helion Network.

Stay tuned for an upcoming case study, which shows how Ormuco is helping enterprises leapfrog into hybrid cloud.
