Press and analysts talk about HPE’s latest news: simplifying the multi-cloud estate

bigstock-Business-Conversations-8311828.jpgMost businesses agree that today’s complex, hybrid IT environment is challenging. Yet, what’s being done to solve it?

 Plenty.

That’s according to a select group of panelists at a recent event hosted by Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) on May 30th. Adam Jacob (Chef Software), Wayne Holland (Washington Department of Transportation), and Tom Bittman (Gartner) – all joined Ric Lewis, HPE’s senior vice president and general manager of the Software Defined and Cloud Group,  in a discussion on simplifying the multi-cloud estate.

Attendees at the event also had the opportunity to hear HPE’s point of view on today’s hybrid IT environment and the value of software-defined infrastructure and hybrid cloud management. They witnessed the power of HPE’s portfolio -- listening to a live Alexa demo and participating in an immersive mixed reality demo.

The event highlighted HPE’s newest updates to HPE OneView and HPE OneSphere -- products that let customers automate and streamline data center operations, gain insights faster across their hybrid cloud, and enhance service delivery to their internal customers.

 Real news from the event

A number of news organizations covered the event. Take a look:

SDxCentral, Jessica Hardcastle: “And at a swanky event at The Battery in San Francisco, company executives detailed how both products fit into its software-defined and cloud strategy as it works to position itself as a leader in next-generation software-defined compute, networking, and storage.”

Channel Partners Online, Edward Gately: “Hewlett-Packard Enterprise (HPE) on Monday unveiled updates to its software-defined infrastructure and cloud portfolio, allowing partners to initiate more cloud conversations with their customers. With the new enhancements to HPE OneView and HPE OneSphere, customers now can automate and streamline data-center operations, gain insights more quickly across their hybrid clouds, and enhance service delivery to their internal customers.”

ZDNet, Stephanie Condon: “Hybrid IT accounts for the bulk of HPE's revenue. Last month, the company's Q2 financial results showed the segment bringing in $6 billion, up 7 percent year-over-year.”

HPE executives in the news

Others quoted insights from HPE executives…

CRN: “[Ric] Lewis cited as examples HPE Synergy Composable Infrastructure, a software-defined platform for quickly deploying resources across dynamic pools of physical and virtual resources for any application. Over 1,600 customers have already deployed HPE Synergy, making it the company's fastest-growing infrastructure play, he said.”

DevOps.com: “[Paul] Miller said increased diversity in IT environments requires a different approach to managing enterprise IT, which now spans multiple public clouds and on-premises IT environments consisting of both virtual machines and physical servers. There’s a lot more focus on creating a consistent approach to managing IT in a way that is seamless across people and processes, said Miller.”

Channel Partners Online: “As enterprise cloud adoption continues to mature, organizations are developing a comprehensive strategy for managing both on-and off-premises infrastructure,” said Ric Lewis, senior vice president and general manager of HPE’s software-defined and cloud group. “HPE OneView brings together all aspects of everyday life-cycle management across compute, storage and network resources into one place, giving companies the cloud performance they need to meet today’s rapidly evolving business needs.”
