Qos 802.1p voice via Business VPN
Hello everyone,
I want to activate QoS level 2 (802.1p) for voice streams, with the value 5 (standard for voice).
The marking will have to pass through a port on which is connected the level 2 router of the operator, who connects us via a dedicated VPN business, to several remote sites (trunk mode).
We validated with the operator the fact that he will have to trust our marking.
In precision, the voice borrows 3 Vlans: 200, 208 and 210.
We have the following architecture: a core network (level 3) 5940, a stack 5510 (level 2) where the user stacks arrive, and where the router will be connected.
At what level is it wise to position the Qos? On the Vlan or only on the ethernet port that receives the router? And inbound or outbound?
Thanks for your help

Re: Qos 802.1p voice via Business VPN
Hello Bruno
as general rule the qos marking should be at the port of the voice traffic source (IP PBX, IP Phone) so If you have IP Phone, the voice qos should be marked at the port where the phone are connected.
For the intersites there is inbount and outbound traffic :
- Outbound, it's already marked at the source
- Inbound traffic, it should be marked from source and you can configure the router port as qos trust to trust the source marking.
Hope this help you, we are ready for more clarification if needed.
good day
