Agile developers: How valuable are you?

mrohad on ‎06-18-2013 03:55 PM

Everyone knows that with more skills, opportunities for advancements, income and responsibility follow. But what’s the value of your Agile skills? As enterprises scramble to find developers with Agile skill sets, how can you be sure you are earning what you are really worth in today’s market? HP and ASPE may have the answer for you.

For many HP Software users, Agile methodology is transforming the way we work and is providing new opportunities to show real business value in our skills. To provide insights and to help you quantify your contribution and advance in your career, HP has partnered with ASPE, one of the leading Agile training vendors, to deliver an Agile Salary Survey. With this survey we want to show you and the Agile community just how valuable your skill set really is.

If you are currently practicing Agile, we highly encourage you to participate. We’ll ask about your current roles and responsibilities, and what you predict for the Agile market. The survey will only take about five minutes to complete. Survey responses are strictly confidential and data from this research will be reported only in the aggregate (ie, no individually identifiable information).

A report containing a detailed analysis of survey results will be distributed to participants soon after the survey period closes. It will also be available for download on the HP and ASPE websites.

This post implies that an Agile developer is worth more than any other developer - any reason why? The difference between an Agile/Scrum developer is the management of the project, and that's all. The coding doesn't differ, it's just the coding process. Emaill that coding/project process to any developer and he'll become "Agile" on the spot.

By the way, it's not that hard to attend that  5 minute standup meeting every day and answer those three questions.
