5 Reasons to be in Barcelona @ HPDiscover 10-12 December

SusanMerriman ‎11-07-2013 10:59 AM - edited ‎06-26-2015 01:51 PM

Few of us need an invitation to go to Barcelona. But forget the stunning festive markets: In December HP Discover – HP’s lead EMEA customer event – is top billing. The HP Software Education team is going to be out in force. We’ll be explaining how we can “build a better enterprise together” and, with our customers speaking on our behalf, it’s really worth attending. My top 5 reasons for being in Barca are below.

1. Build a better enterprise: The cloud, big data, mobile, security and the consumerization of IT – these trends are changing our industry. IT now is not just an enabler – it’s how business and government are done. HP Discover will discuss the implications with keynote speeches, forums, demos, and roundtables showing how we can use new technology to build a better enterprise, make new connections with customers and citizens, and empower a new generation of tech-savvy employees. As an education professional, empowering employees is especially close to my heart and we’ll be sharing ideas, with help from customers, about how you can make the most of everyone’s potential.

2. EVRY shows how it empowers users: EVRY, Norway’s second-largest IT services company, will lead a breakout session to explain how they use our enablement solution, HP ART, to easily record customized simulation-based training and create a wide range of supporting materials.

  • EVRY has trained 10,000 people in HP IT Service Manager with benefits including reduced deployment times, falling costs and ensuring that teams are prepared ahead of time for software revisions and changes.

EVRY: Thursday 12 December, 12pm – Software Breakout Session

We expect the customer sessions to be very busy; please be sure to register early to avoid disappointment.

3. Learn how to build your team’s skills: One of the best ways to create a high-performing team is to certify your people with HP’s accreditations. I’ll be joining Kim Howlett, Director of Marketing for our Expert One organization in EMEA, to explain more. Come join us in this micro-forum – we’ve space for about 15 people – for an open chat to see how you can get more value from your software by sharpening your people’s skills.

4. Ask a guru: Got a problem you can’t resolve? Need a little advice about training your people, moving to the cloud, managing IT performance, managing risk, and more? Then drop into the guru bar. The drinks are soft but the ideas are stimulating with experts from across HP Software Services on hand for one-on-one chats about any IT issue that’s on your mind.

5. Go to the Demo Theater 3: The demo theater, in the Software Services Zone, is always popular. The debates and questions are open and lively – it’s a great way to take the weight of your feet and learn about the latest ideas in software education and services.

There’s one more thing. We love to talk to customers so, please, do come and find me and my team. IT’s changing: It’s becoming more agile, service oriented and fast moving. And with all of us needing to ensure that our people can use a wider range of applications, more quickly, we can chat through how education can play a huge role in helping build a better enterprise together.
