Are you attending HP Discover?  Do you work on planning, building, delivering and maintaining applications that focus on user and business values? Do you face challenges in shifting from a traditional IT to a user-focused one?  If you have answered “yes” to any of these questions, then there is one special keynote session at HP Discover you cannot miss.

Put down that coffee, and mark your calendar today to attend our HP Software Keynote session.

“How the user is the new center of IT”

HP Software Keynote session at HP Discover

TK3601 – happening on Wednesday, June 12th at 1:30 pm in Palazzo P

According to author Geoffrey Moore, the next trillion dollars of IT spend will be directed at “Systems of Engagement” – those apps and services fueled by cloud, mobility and social media. What will this shift mean for the business’s expectations of IT, for the nature of IT itself, for the business and for its users?

In this session you will learn from Matt Morgan, Vice President of HP Software Product Marketing and Kevin Tucker, Director at United Airlines, about how leading enterprises are innovating to deliver premium user experiences. Matt and Kevin will present the trends and the future of IT and how to be prepared for the shift.

Every so often, there is an inflection point in an industry, and they forever change operations and expectations. Think of the disruptive transformation and immeasurable benefits that came from inflections in the transportation industry: the power of the wheel, horse-drawn carriage to automobile, land-travel to air travel, gasoline powered to electric vehicles, and so forth.  We see the same dynamic in IT: the first computing machine, the transformation from timeshare to networked mini-computers, the invention of the laptop, the Internet and so forth.

Today we are seeing a massive inflection point and it pertains to the user itself.  It is no longer acceptable to make the user bend to the system.  Systems are now designed to bend to the user.  Users today expect and demand that their experience with IT is engaging, dynamic, social and personal. This is changing everything about the way we as an industry deliver:

  • We have new pressures on IT fundamentals
  • We have new technologies and delivery paradigms with cloud and mobile
  • We  have intense design pressure on the complete user experience
  • We have the need for a continuous IT lifecycle with analytics at the center that will ensure velocity does not trump quality and the user experience.

This keynote will bend your thinking similar to the way IT trends are bending to the user. They will discuss this current inflection point in IT and the software innovations that HP is heralding. Now you will be able to not only respond, but be the driver of business innovation and success.

If you caught this week’s announcement of HP’s Application Transformation solutions and the new HP Anywhere mobile development software platform, then you’ve seen an example of the type of innovation that HP Software is building and delivering to help make the transformation to user-centric IT.
