By using HP HAVEn, NASCAR now really knows what it’s 75 million fans are talking about

If you know and understand what your customers are feeling and saying, you can deliver a product that is better suited to their desires. You can also respond quickly if there are negative shifts in customer sentiment.


This is exactly what NASCAR was looking for when they were trying to understand what 75 million fans think about their sport. NASCAR uses tools in the HP HAVEn platform to analyze the big data generated by its fans through social media, broadcast partners and traditional sports media outlets.


To truly understand what people are talking about in the auto racing industry, NASCAR partnered with HP to build the NASCAR Fan & Media Engagement Center.  This center, which was built on HP HAVEn capabilities, allows them to listen across the most common types of media (social, traditional and broadcast).


Now NASCAR is able to bring all of this unstructured data into their platform to create a “single pane of glass” to truly understand what is being talked about at any given time about the sport.


“We can learn from that. We can learn what the news media is saying, we can listen to what our fans are saying and tie that together and help our industry react appropriately,” says Steven Worling, Senior Director of Information Technology with NASCAR.
