Monday was Partner Day at HP Discover Vegas 2012. The day began at with the HP Partner Summit so HP Software Evangelist Paul Muller and Chief Cloud Technologist Christian Verstraete focused on partners and HP for the end-of-Day One wrap-up video. They were joined by Mike Gallagher (senior director of partner marketing at HP) and Jakob Kaad (Accenture), discussing how HP works with partners and helps them maximize opportunities.  Key points of the HP Software Partners Program are:

• As much as $140 billion worth of business is being conducted in the cloud right now with a growth rate north of 20%

• A software license from HP can yield as much as 8x the amount of money that was spent on the license

• The HP Interchange program, available through LinkedIn, is a program that makes it easy for hardware partners to network with software partners

Then they talked about a specific partnership offering from Accenture combining their IT Operating Model with the HP Executive Scorecard.

In addition, Christian offered his take on the opening keynote by Wired Editor-in-Chief Chris Anderson, which presented ideas both provocative and challenging about the consumerization of IT. (General sessions will be posted online at www.hp.com/go/discoveronline if you’ve missed any of them.)
