MSA 2040, remove disk group from pool

Hello

i need to delete 3 diskgroup from pool's so that i can remove the Enclosure.

Configuration:

MSA2040 with one Enclosure

Pool A with 2 DG (dgA und dgB)
Pool B with 3 DG (dgC, dgD and dgE)

Volume1 and Volume2 on Pool A
Volume3 and Volume4 on Pool B

dgA and dgC are all on the MSA2040

dgB, dgD and dgE disks are all in the Encosure

Volume2 and Volume4 aren't in use anymore an i can delete this.

my Question, can i delete all 3 dg's on the Enclosure so that i can remove all disks?

thanks in Advance

Rocco

Re: MSA 2040, remove disk group from pool

Hello all

found this in the HP MSA 2040 CLI Reference Guide:

For a virtual disk group, if the group contains no volume data, the group will be removed. If the
group contains volume data, the command will initiate removal and try to drain (move) all volume
data to another group in the same pool. While data is being drained, the group's status will be
VDRAIN. If there are no other disk groups in the pool or if no other disk group in the pool has
enough space to contain the volume data, the command will immediately fail with an error. If
draining begins and is successful, an event will be logged and the group will be removed. If
draining begins but hosts continue to write new data to the volumes and cause an out-of-space
condition, the command will fail and an event will be logged.

This answer my question. Thanks in advance to all
