Re: Restore the default settings HP 8/8 Base SAN Switch

Try this:

cfgclear
cfgsave
switchdisable
configDefault
switchenable

NOTE: When using configdefault , all configuration parameters are reset to their default values with the exception of the following:
Ethernet MAC address, IP address, subnetmask, and boot ROM parameters
IP gateway address
License keys
OEM customization
Product ID and Vendor ID
SNMP configuration
iSCSI configuration
System name
Chassis name
World Wide Name
Zoning configuration (includes aliases, zones, and configurations)
Security parameters and policies
User account passwords (includes all user config and all built-in accounts)
Switch PID format
Ethernet Link Mode

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Restore the default settings HP 8/8 Base SAN Switch

FCSWA5:admin> cfgclear
The Clear All action will clear all Aliases, Zones, FA Zones
and configurations in the Defined configuration.
Run cfgSave to commit the transaction or cfgTransAbort to
cancel the transaction.
Do you really want to clear all configurations? (yes, y, no, n): [no] yes

FCSWA5:admin> cfgsave
WARNING!!!
The changes you are attempting to save will render the
Effective configuration and the Defined configuration
inconsistent. The inconsistency will result in different
Effective Zoning configurations for switches in the fabric if
a zone merge or HA failover happens. To avoid inconsistency
it is recommended to commit the configurations using the
'cfgenable' command.

Do you want to proceed with saving the Defined
zoning configuration only? (yes, y, no, n): [no] yes
"fcswk5" not found

FCSWA5:admin> switchdisable

FCSWA5:admin> configdefault
Executing configdefault...Please wait
Already in Native Mode continuing with configDefault
Committing configuration ... done.
The switch has to be rebooted to allow the changes to take effect.

FCSWA5:admin> switchenable

Re: Restore the default settings HP 8/8 Base SAN Switch

I found another command sequence, the difference is a cfgdisable in the beginning, please try this too. Finally do y reboot.

Did you reboot the switch already?

switchdisable

cfgdisable (hit "y" at prompt)

cfgclear (hit "y" at prompt)

cfgsave (hit "y" at prompt)

configdefault

switchenable

reboot

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Restore the default settings HP 8/8 Base SAN Switch

Yes rebooted it.
I want to reset all settings. Name, IP and all the rest. I use the command "configdefault -all".

switchdisable

cfgdisable (hit "y" at prompt)

cfgclear (hit "y" at prompt)

cfgsave (hit "y" at prompt)

configdefault -all

switchenable

reboot

But after a reboot all settings remain, Name, username, password, IP.

Is it possible to do through Shell?

Re: Restore the default settings HP 8/8 Base SAN Switch

The fabric OS user guide says:

"In some cases, the configRemoveAll root command is required for reset. If that is the case,
contact your system administrator",

so try "configremoveall -all"

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Restore the default settings HP 8/8 Base SAN Switch

Tried, but he asks
configremove [options] [filename] , because he had not found "configremoveall -all" and "configremove -all" too.

I used configremove -local config,.txt

Then i used "configdefault -all" and reboot. But sittengs remain.

Re: Restore the default settings HP 8/8 Base SAN Switch

Did you do a "switchdisable" before?

It would be helpful to see the session log ... always.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
