Patches are up to date, but likely that any FC patches weren't installed because I have never had an FC adapter in the system. I will be installing the latest bundle at next shutdown, but would like to go ahead an put on all patches req. for FC at that time.
Thanks in advance...

Re: Best choice for HBA in L2000 / 11.00
A5158A (1GB) or A6795A (2GB).
but maybe Emulex or QLogic Adapters are also supported? I don't know.
We use both the 5158 and 6795, and did not have any problems with them, at least as far as I can remember.
Only the 6795 supports 2GB speed, so of course it is faster.
regards, Bernd

Re: Best choice for HBA in L2000 / 11.00
the A6795A 2Gbit FC card is what you want.
The L-class models 1000/1500/2000/3000
have been renamed rp5400/rp5430/rp5470, as you guessed just a marketing issue.

Bernhard

Solutionin fact, your L2000 is an rp5450. Regarding patches you should make a depot with the driver which you should swcopy from the latest Application CD# 1 you have.
Then go to the patch database of the ITRC
and select patches PHNE_25684, which will upgrade the PDC firmware to 41.39. You need this to support the A6795A.
Next select PHKL_23939 and PHSS_26798, download these with all their dependencies and put them into the depot of the card driver.
I recommend to upgrade PDC FW in a single, separate first step. After reboot just install your depot with driver and patches.
Regards,
Bernhard
P.S. I was assuming you run HP-UX 11.00

Re: Best choice for HBA in L2000 / 11.00
The release notes of A6795A says http://docs.hp.com/hpux/pdf/J2635-90018.pdf - >Compatiability Information and Installation requirements ->Software requiements.
The following are the patches listed out.
â ¢ Tachyon patch PHKL_23939 or later (only for HP-UX 11.00)
â ¢ Tachyon patch PHKL_23626 or later (only for HP-UX 11i)
You will have to do addition research on the latest and pre-requisites of the above two patches.
HTH
