Re: EVA 8100 and VMware vSphere 5
HP pre-sales will likely push 3Par. The migration from EVA to 3Par will be as difficult, if not more so since 3Par lacks peer-motion support for EVA, than migrating to any other vendor's storage.
Another EVA is always an option, but the history of poor product support and long release cycles count against it. (I dare anyone from HP to try and defend their EVA8100 support lifecycle)

Re: EVA 8100 and VMware vSphere 5
Any news by today?
I have EVA4100 + 2 BL460c G1 blades with vSphere 4.0 and planning to upgrade to vSphere 5.
From compatibility list on VMWare site I see that EVA4100 is not campatible with ESX 5 and that the BL460c G1 (Xeon 53xx family) is not compatible with ESX 5.1.

Re: EVA 8100 and VMware vSphere 5
Hello, there is nothing new and probably newer will.
but if this calm you, we run our old EVA6000 with ESXi5.1 and of course there is no problem (and no support I know and am aware of it), but without any modern features like VAAI...
And BL G1's AMDs works with 5.1 smoothly as well, there is no technical limitation just luck of will from HP to certify it. (I am not sure about G1's Intels as we do not use them)
