How to migrate HP EVA P6350 from FC environment to a pure ISCSI environment?

Hi,

How to migrate HP EVA P6350 from FC environment to a pure ISCSI environment?

Please find details of the product.

HP EVA P6350 900GB 10K SAS FIELD STARTER KIT EVA P6350 Dual Controller array FC with 8GB of cache with a 677MHz ABM 1x M6625 25-SFF bay SAS HDD enclosure (AP840A) 8x 900GB 10K RPM SFF SAS disk drives (619286-004) P6000 Command View/ABM installed NOTE: P6000 SmartStart software, containing P6000 Command View/SBM software, either on a CD or an e-copy, if needed, can be ordered separately P6300 Unlimited Command View LTU (which also includes a Thin Provisioning Unlimited LTU and a Dynamic Capacity Manager Unlimited LTU) XCS v11.x Firmware installed.

We would like to use it now in an IP / ISCSI environment. What should we do?

Thanks,

Yaboto

The EVA (P6000) is either FC only or a FC/iSCSI combo.

For ISCSI you need a server or protocol router to "translate" somehow to iscsi, if you have the FC only model.

But you may consider to swap the controller types or even get a new array like MSA2040 or 3PAR.

Hope this helps!
