Management module on EVA4400 troubleshooting

We have an issue with an EVA4400 with a non-responsive management module. The unit had a power outage, but there are no problems with data or data access.

It looks like my only troubleshooting option is to reset it. Can somebody confirm for me that this is not going to cause issues with the data?

Re: Management module on EVA4400 troubleshooting

Resetting the module does not affect the array.

Just press the reset button for a moment or pull the module.

Hope this helps!

When you reset the management module the IP will be reset to default 192.168.0.1

Re: Management module on EVA4400 troubleshooting

IIRC a short press will just reboot the module, if you press longer it resets to factory defaults (module only, this means IP address, user settings etc). But you can even pull the module, wait a minute and push it back.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Torsten and Johan.I assumed I could reset it safely, but I would have hated to have reset it and found out I was wrong.

Re: Management module on EVA4400 troubleshooting

Hello..

I know this post is old but i'm having some kind of troubles resetting the Management Module, I've done all the three methods you mentioned and I'm still unable to ping 192.168.0.1, I changed my network settings to be on the same network, yet I can't ping it.

any idea about how i can solve this?

Thanks... :)

Re: Management module on EVA4400 troubleshooting

Unfortunatelly there is almost nothing to troubleshoot here.

Pressing the reset button for >10 sec will reset to factory defaults, the LED should be green.

It should now answer to

https://192.168.0.1:2373

Hope this helps!
