Hi,
Today I have downloaded the P6000 Simulator and its working well without any problem. But what I found after working a while that if I close the simulator (Stop P6000 Simulator) and start it again (Start P6000 Simulator) then whatever work I have done (created vdisks, DR groupe, Disk Groups) has gone.
Is this normal that after closing the simulator it loss all the configuration what we do?
Thanks,
BK

Re: P6000 Simulator
Don't know how to save, but you can adjust your simulated config here:
c:\Program Files (x86)\Hewlett-Packard\HP P6000 EVA Simulator\evasim\simulator\config> sim.cfg
The readme also tells:
Configuration Options
There are many configuration options for EVA simulation. Examples include: types of arrays, quantity of
arrays, drive types, quantity of drives, configuration persistence, LUN load rate, LUN fill rate, drive
failure injection, rate of allocation, rate of copy, and rate of reconstruction. These options are intended
for HP Internal Use Only, but if you have a special need, contact arraysimulationfeedback@hp.com.
I would try to change in sim.cfg
dbmode READ_ONLY
to
READ_WRITE
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

SolutionHi Torsten,
Thanks for the reply and I tried the option by changing the dbmode to READ_WRITE but still it didn't save the config. But there is a option I found a way to do it.
When Simulator starts it opens 3 cmd window also, in one window named "HP P6000 Simulator" type save and then it saves the configuration in database file which is located at "C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HP P6000 EVA Simulator\evasim\simulator\database\evasim.sqlite"
Trying to see if there is any other option within the CV EVA window to do the same. If find will port it.
Thanks,
BK

Re: P6000 Simulator
Available commands:
start Start the service
restart Restart the service
stop Stop the service
status Get the current status
save Save current state to database
exit Exit
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
