RSM Host Agent service gets hung/stuck almost daily

Two different servers (both Windows 2008 32bit) and with both RSM 5.1 and 5.2: Almost daily, the RSM Host Agent service will get stuck and I have to go to task manager and kill the process and restart the service. I was hoping upgrading from RSM 5.1 to 5.2 would solve the problem but it did not.

Any ideas?

Additional info...
RSM scripts (for backups) always freeze on the CreateHostVolumeDiscrete command. That seems to cause the RSM Host Agent to freeze on the host that the volume is being presented to.
