Also after you run diags on the port and its clear something is wrong.
HP has recommended that with Brocade switches you should always connect your tape libraries on ports 0-3 quads or 0-7 octets and your hosts on a different octet or quad group. This loads balances the switch better.
Same could be said about Arrays and ISL links.

Check the GBIC, FC Cabling and SFP. Its one option to check the HBA Card in the host side...

chk the errors from command "fwportdetailshow"
this will clearly show's the errors details..
either its Port or SFP errors.
Possibilities.. most of the time.. u end up with Bad FC, bad SFP or bad HBA
