Re: XCS 10.000.00?

If you look through the 10.000.00 release notes, there is a ton of fixes. I guess in 10.000.01 there will be a few more.

Re: XCS 10.000.00?

Diassapointing that HP could easily have posted something here to quell the rumours, but here is an offical line I've managed to procure :-

"There is a new release of f/w coming out and that is 10.00 XCS. This is currently in controlled release and is only advised for problems not resolved in XCS 09534.

XCs 09534 is stable and works for 99% of customer├в s. It has been out for over a year with no issues."

Re: XCS 10.000.00?

So actually there are saying: 'We have great new features in XCS 10.0, but you should not use them since you have 09534 firmware now, and you use it already for a year without any problems.'

From a hidden source: XCS 10.0 makes your EVA4400-controllers sometimes go nuts.

Re: XCS 10.000.00?

Robert: but if it's in controlled release, why can we download it from software.hp.com? Doesn't seem very controlled to me :)

Maybe it's the code for x400 series that is in controlled release.

Re: XCS 10.000.00?

I now have an ISO file with this XCS code for HSV340 and HSV360 only, and another for HSV300,340,360,400 and 450.

If one of them is bad, would take it away from the download area be the only action from HP?

BTW, should it be read as version XCS 1.0000000 now? ;-)

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: XCS 10.000.00?

I installed XCS 10.000.00 on my EVA 4400. No problems so far.

There is this paragraph in the Service notes but the password doesn't seem to work.

HP P6000 Thin Provisioning Software license

Current EVAx400 customers who have upgraded to HP P6000 Command View and XCS 10000000 can obtain a thin provisioning license from Software Depot:

  1. Go to http://www.software.hp.com/kiosk .

  2. When prompted, enter the following credentials:

    • User name: COMMANDVIEW_THP_LTU_KIOSK

    • Password: Thp_LTU

  3. Select the license key associated with your array model.

Re: XCS 10.000.00?

Yep, I couldn't get through with that password either.

However, I did get my license today (didn't work yesterday) using this password:

  • User name: COMMANDVIEW_THP_LTU_KIOSK

  • Password: Thp_LTUs

Found it in some other material, I think it's unbelievable how hard it is for them to get these right the first time...

I haven't upgraded to XCS 10000000, maybe next week... (EVA4400)

Re: XCS 10.000.00?

You must be lucky, I can't get either password to work.
