Re: lost connection to hsv-110 controller on eva 5000
so I got both controllers to fail! and evidently I now need to pull codes from a serial cable due to the following and awaiting approval for a T&M call
Severity: Critical -- failure or failure imminent. An I/O that should NOT fail, did.
This indicates the controller tried to write metadata and the I/O to the disk failed. This can indicate a disk failure.
It appears that it is stuck and the metadata may be confused. Not sure if its in controller cache or on disk.

Re: lost connection to hsv-110 controller on eva 5000
I had the engineer out yesterday and sad to say we could not save the configuration... so now I get to build an eva. :-) all hardware was fine nothing he could find. spent 6 hours trying to save it,
worst things I lost were 2 system disks. everything else was a shadow of systems sitting 70 miles away. :-)
also will need to upgrade firmware on disks and controllers... fun stuff.
thanks for all your help.
Paul
