Is there much gain in using secure path with single HBA tied servers ? How about switching the MA8000 array from Transparent Failover to Multibus failover in the "same" configuration ? I did see a document on the HP/Compaq site once discussing the single HBA issues and secure path but can not locate the pointer now..Any advice appreciated.

Solution
Yes. There is a lot to be gained by going to multibus failover and making your servers multibus enabled (installing Secure Path).
In short, transparent failover protects only against a controller failure, not a link failure (FC cables and switches). With multibus failover, a fibre channel cable can fail, and if an alternate path to storage is available, Secure Path will use that path instead. In transparant failover, disk access would be lost.
Hope this helps.
