Greetings,
We have an APC UPS and an EVA 5000 SAN.
I've installed APC's PowerChute Network Shutdown client on the SMA. The PowerChute client can be configured to run scripts. I'd like to create a script to power down controllers and all drive enclosures using the SSSU SHUTDOWN command when we have a power failure.
Are there any issues with installing SSSU on the SMA? Does anyone have a better solution other than SSSU?
Thanks for your time
P.S. This thread has been moved from Storage Area Networks (SAN) (Small and Medium Business) to HP Storage System Scripting Utility (SSSU). -HP Forum Moderator

SolutionYou should have no problem running SSSU on the SMA. In fact, SSSU NEEDS the SMA (with Command View) to actually run. All it is... is a command shell to the ordinary user. A place to run commands to configure, backup, restore, admin an EVA instead of the GUI Command View EVA.
SSSU is probably the better solution. Can't think of anything else that would allow you to shutdown the EVA.
