Re: how to collect EVA information in SSSU ?

Since you have an EVA8k, you have to be running sssu with (at least) command view V6, so these commands will pertain to that version. I usually find the sssu.exe image from my Command View management station and then copy it to a network share or local hard drive. We have it set up to use our windows network password for each authorized user.

There is a variety of information available, usually in a brief or full format, or via XML as well.

You can either run it interactively
C:\apps\evautil>sssu

SSSU for HP StorageWorks Command View EVA
Version: 6.0
Build: 34

Manager:sanmgt01
Username:sanmgr01
Password:

NoSystemSelected> ls cell

Systems available on this Manager:
PRODEVA04
PRODEVA01
NoSystemSelected> sel cell PRODEVA01

PRODEVA01> ls ?

The options are:
CABINET
CONTAINER
CONTROLLER
DISK
DISK_GROUP
(etc...)
PRODEVA01> ls disk_group ?

The options are:
FULL
NOFULL
Name of object to show
PRODEVA01> ls disk_group full ?

The only option is:
XML
PTODEVA01>

or with a script of commands via a parameter. The capture config command could be executed anytime to produce a list of the current configuration items. You can specify a specific filename

sssu "File get_prodeva01_cfg.txt"

where the file would start with the following command:

SET OPTION COMMAND_DELAY=10
SET OPTION RETRIES=1
!
SELECT MANAGER SANMGT01 USERNAME=sanmgt PASSWORD=evanum1
!
EMVERSION
!
SELECT CELL "PRODEVA01"
!
Capture Config prodeva01_071212

Hope it helps,
