sssu.exe error: the storage cell is not initialized
I am receiving:
Error: Error view list pointer is invalid. The storage cell is not initialized.
It was working perfectly the day before.
SSSU for HP StorageWorks Command View EVA
| Version: 6.0.2
| Build: 5
| NoSystemSelected> SELECT SYSTEM "PROD"
|
| PROD> SET OPTIONS ON_ERROR=Exit_on_error NORETRIES
|
| PROD> LS DISK FULL XML
|
| Error: Error view list pointer is invalid. The storage cell is not initialized.
The CommandView EVA is also failing :
Operation Failed - View not built
Any idea how I can reinitialise?
Thanks

Re: sssu.exe error: the storage cell is not initialized
Hi, if you re-initialize you lose all the data. Are you sure you want to re-initialize?
You do this via the OCP (the front panel) of the EVA.
Do you see any errors while you're there? Sometimes it becomes like this becaues there are some back-end cabling issues. Is your CV server zoned in to both controllers? Maybe the mastership was changed to what used to be the slave.

Re: sssu.exe error: the storage cell is not initialized
What is the model of the EVA ?
What is the CV EVA version ?
***********************************************************************************************************
Have you checked the path from Server to the EVA (Use CVUTIL from command prompt on the Management server) – This is to check the Connectivity.
C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Sanworks\Element Manager for StorageWorks HSV>cvutil paths
More specific: cvutil.exe paths -wwn <WWN>
*******************************************************************************************************************
You can try reboot of the master controller and check the status.
I work for HPE

Re: sssu.exe error: the storage cell is not initialized
Hi
Thanks for your replies. There is no cvutil under:
C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Sanworks\Element Manager for StorageWorks HSV
This is a EVA 5000.
The SAN/disks are working fine. Only the web interface and sssu are failing.
Cheers

Re: sssu.exe error: the storage cell is not initialized
Ramassh: be sure to check out the zoning. Or does your CV server have presented disks to it too that are working?

Re: sssu.exe error: the storage cell is not initialized
Thanks Guldmyr. Can you please advise how I can check the zoning here?
I have hone through all exe files in that path, but couldn't find anything like cvutil.
Cheers
