ATM-Networkcard in NAS 4000s/9000s ?

Hi there,

i have a very important question....

We plan to buy 2 HP NAS4000s or 9000s Server.
To get a high network-througput we are thinking about ATM-Cards.

In general there is the question: Can we use these NIC's in a NAS-Filer or is this not possible/recommended ???

It would be very nice if someone can send me a response very quickly !

Thank you so much !
Very best regards

Hubert

Re: ATM-Networkcard in NAS 4000s/9000s ?

Hi Hubert,

HP NAS Test has not tested/qualified ATM cards on 4000s/9000s , so officially I cannot recommend it. However, if the cards have been certified with Microsoft Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition (i.e., WHQL certified) and on the respective HP Proliant server model (DL380G3 for 4000s or DL580G2 for the 9000s), then it is possible the cards will work with the NAS 4000s/9000s. If there is a problem with the ATM card and the NAS model, it will be supported. We just have not tested it because we do not have a ATM network presently in the NAS Test lab.
