DL380 G5 hw ?

New dl380 g5
left drive bay is empty, how come?
7 other bays are protected. Also do I load the disks left to right?

There is an Allen key fastened at the rear of chassis of the server, anyone know what this if for?

You must have ordered the server without any storage. If you are not booting from SAN, then you will have to install at least one SAS drive, that is why they leave one bay open and the others and filled with blanks for Air flow. Yes start installing the SAS drives from Left (slot1) to Right (slot8)

That is a T-15 Torx tool on the back, not sure where to use it though but if you need one there it is.
