DL380 Storage Server 2003 support R2
Does the DL380 Storage Server 2003 that comes with HP Storage Server 5.5 support an upgrade
to Windows Server 2003 R2?
It looks like the Storage Server 5.5 included SP1, so I would assume when HP releases the next version of Storage Server it will bundle in R2. Any ideas???
Thanks

Re: DL380 Storage Server 2003 support R2
Hey Aaron,
Here's the answer, sort-of:
"HP constantly evaluates new updates and releases for it's Storage Server products to bring new and better features to our customers. Microsoft released R2 to OEMs in December, standard development and test cycles will have these updates into products in 3 to 6 months. Please stay tuned to HP for official announcements."
Clear as mud?

Yeah, clear as mud I guess.
Do you think this is related to windows updates as well, I can't push patches to this server from our WUS Server or manually from windowsupdates.microsoft.com?

Re: DL380 Storage Server 2003 support R2
Aaron,
HP has changed it's policy on Windows Update. See http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/suspp/index.html
To re-enable Windows Update features you will have to change the policy on the server. ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/storageworks/nas/5983-0484EN.pdf
ONE CAVEAT:
SP1 for Windows 2003 will break the Storage Server's internal verification utility. This will Blue-Screen your Storage Server. Only install SP1 using the Service Release 5.5 or 5.6 DVDs.
