DL380 & Windows Storage Server 2003

I have seen from the product information that there is a standard edition of Windows Storage Server and a enterprise edition. What are the differences?

Also can you do directory quota management on the standard edition. I want to use quota management but not at volume or user level.

Thank you

Re: DL380 & Windows Storage Server 2003

Hi Daniel,

For the DL380 G4 Storage Server, Enterprise Edition adds clustering (i.e., Microsoft Clusting Service). Also, Enterprise Ed. by itself adds RAM and number of processors, but this exceeds the capability of the hardware (DL380 G4 is 2 procs, 12GB RAM).
For the DL380G4 Storage Server and Enterprise Ed. combination, the license allows only 8GB RAM.

Yes, the Standard Edition supports directory quota management.
