Error during backup discovery/backup support is failing

I have seen other threads regarding the same issues but I was not able to resolve it with the suggestions.

Messages appear in the event log around every 5th second. Im not able to see any more information in the event. (like "-Exception.. -Message).

Using backup exec, and I had to disable the HP data protector in order for backup exec to run properly.

The time settings are correct on the server.

Any suggestions regarding this? Do I really have to have the data protector installed on the server?

Aio600, windows storage server 2003, SP2. Running Backup Exec 11d, rev 7170.

The event logs are too big to attach here, but i have pasted the application events into a JPEG. Let me know if I shall send the logs.

add domain\asmuser to the local admins group on the AiO server..
