HP StorageWorks AIO 400

getting application event on All-in-one storage manager - error during backup discovery and bm:backup support is failing. Not using Data protector express. Any way of shutting down these messages from occurring every 2 to 3 minutes? Can I stop the HP storage manager service and not have any problems?
