HP SureStore CD-ROM Server/Tower 7 (J3277A)
I see from other posts that other HP NAS servers can't be accessed by W2K clients. Does anyone know if this is the case for the J3277A CDROM Server Tower?
W9x clients are fine but W2K machines just lock up when browsing shares on it.
I really hope this is possible otherwise we wasted a whole pile of cash on three of them.
In anticipation of a fix..
Thanks,
Andy

Re: HP SureStore CD-ROM Server/Tower 7 (J3277A)
Have a look at this document about support for windows 2000 on CD-Rom servers:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?locale=en_US&objectID=lpg80059&locale=en_US&taskId=101&prodSeriesId=64026&prodTypeId=12169
It looks like you're cd-server isn't supported with w2k clients.
:-(

Re: HP SureStore CD-ROM Server/Tower 7 (J3277A)
Thanks for your reply. I may be wrong, but isn't that document talking about W2K AD clients? I'm using a legacy NT4 domain with W2K Professional clients. I can see the root of contents of any share but not the next level folder down. It just hangs.
What a waste of money these three units were!
Thanks for looking,
Andy

Re: HP SureStore CD-ROM Server/Tower 7 (J3277A)
Check on the Axis site www.axis.com for the latest Firmware the one I know is 5.35 and that should have XP support. these units are OEMed from the swedish company Axis. I was able to flash an HP-cdromserver with their firmware, but you are on your own if the flash corrupts the servermodule. The support warranty expired somwhere mid 2003, so no more support from HP

Re: HP SureStore CD-ROM Server/Tower 7 (J3277A)
I've downloaded the proper firmware for my tower (after opening it up and look for the server type).
But it didn't help.
my towers are CD/T.
I still didn't stop looking...

Re: HP SureStore CD-ROM Server/Tower 7 (J3277A)
1. Are you saying that you managed to upgrade the firmware OK but it made no difference?
2. I don't recognise your model CD/T - what's the HP part model number? e.g. mine is J3277A.
Good luck,
Andy
