HPE storeeasy 1460

i have proposed hpe storeeasy 1460 with 32TB ( 4 x 8TB SATA 6G) end user requires 18TB usable capacity.

 Is it possible to have 18TB usable capacity with raid 5.

Hi,

SSA (Smart storage Administrator) would allow to create RAID 5 data logical drive even though recommended RAID type for data logical drives is RAID 6 or RAID 10. RAID 5 logical drive should give an usable space of around 23-24TB.   From administrator guide:  While the recovery process makes every attempt to preserve the existing data volumes, you must have a backup of your data before recovering the system using recovery DVD/iso image.
